ABOUT US

We are a Mayan-Yucatecan pop-up highlighting indigenous ingredients and traditional family recipes. Developed by longtime Absinthe Chef Eddie Arriaga and his son, Ivan Arriaga—Chef and General Manager respectively.

At Akna—named for the Mayan goddess of motherhood—we place an emphasis on family, Mother Earth, and nature's freshest produce. We offer casual neighborhood dining that delivers authentic Mexican, Yucatecan, and Mayan cuisine, including ceviche, quesabirria tacos, traditional entrees, and desserts. With a combined three decades of experience within Absinthe, Eddie and Ivan Arriaga designed the experience to bring Yucatecan culture to life through food.
